If you’re living in Montreal and happen to use STM’s transit on a regular basis, you might have acquired the new Opus card that was released awhile ago, in spring ‘09. From an utility standpoint, the card is definitely more convenient to use than the old tickets that you had to buy, back in the days.

Although, from a design perspective, the card is lacking of a bit of creativity. I mean it’s a card. For Montreal. We don’t deserve some sort of standard, corporate design on our transit cards, right?

Well, there’s a graphic designer, Melissa Nougier, who had the cleaver idea of starting OpusLift. Opuslift.com is a “collection” of multiple designs, where you can find many patterns and templates to pimp your card! Also, if you already have some work that you’d love to share, you can submit it to the website. Don’t worry, if you want to avoid the hassle of conceiving a template for your own card, there are already tons of designs, waiting for you to stick ‘em.

Hometown hero Tiga has finally come out with a video for Mind Dimension.  This track has been killing it since the holiday season and has been played from every top DJ from Justice, The Bloody Beetroots, Soulwax (check out their remix on Soulwax’s Part of NYE Never Dies mix for Mixmag) and many more.  Check out the new album: Ciao Tiga on April 27th and he’ll be back home for a ILOVENEON party on June 6th.

The mixtape is a lost art medium in this day and age.  The whole process from having only a limited space per side, choosing a theme (break ups, road trip, summer jam, love notes, etc.), then the process of finding music (if you didn’t have the record, tape or cd, their was always the radio).  God I miss it, hitting the play, record and then pausing the tape.
