I cannot stare enough into the elegant and uphoric images of Yola Van Leeuwenkamp. A friend I had made during shamless LaSalle College modeling back in the day, Yola’s fashion art takes us to the hidden world between photography and illustration. In each scene she works with the cinematographic elements allowing her subjects to soak into each character and play within their imagination. The image is then treated, superimposed, and texturized to transform into the threads that compose delicacy, fantasy, and sensuality. They express all the things I have always loved and admired about fashion.
Yola is also co-founder of CANARI COLORS, a conceptual and visual design firm located in Montreal. This multidisciplinary artist is also involved in animated films lending her skills to artistic direction, costume and make-up design.
