Evian depuis quelques années nous offre depuis des collaboration avec des couturiers sur des bouteilles en verre a collectionner… Christian Lacroix 2008, Jean-Paul Gaultier 2009, et cette année…Paul Smith ?
Pour etre honnete je suis pas certain qu’il est du même calibre que les deux autres, et surtout pourquoi cette année prendre un designer anglais a la place de continuer avec des créateurs français. J’aime le resultat final, mais il y a une dizaine de designers que j’aurai invité avant lui. Est-ce donc si intéressant pour un couturier de faire un design pour Evian ?

I’ve been slacking off the last couple of weeks with the blog and thought I would share some love from by sharing some jems from some of Montreal’s finest DJ’s/Producers/Remixers/Acts. 

The first track is a remix of Nikki Awesome & The Royal Society’s track: You Say remixed by Disco Tiger (check it out here ).  If you haven’t heard of Disco Tiger you definitely want to check out his own production work and his killer remix of the banger Raven by Proxy here.

The next track is a remix from Nujax.  You might remember them as the finalist from the  MSOM x D:UM x MEG Boat Final or their Sextape Fridays if not you definitely heard their remix of Major Lazer’s: Zumbi (if not wake up and download it here).  The duo are back at it again this time giving Luke Slater and fellow Montrealer A-Track’s track: Shake It Down (check it out here) their own personal treatment. 

Finally to round up the mix is Chromeo with their new track: Night By Night (check it out here) .  The track is a bit darker then in the past but is definitely nothing unfamiliar for Chromeo fans (is there anyone that doesn’t like them???).  I’m hoping that Night By Night is sign of a new album to come.

It was never a passion of mine to run away to the circus, but none the less I’ve always wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show. Something about the stunts, the way people raved about it, or maybe it was reading Conversational Capital and discovering some of the history of the Cirque.

I actually have a friend who ran off to the circus. (absurd right? true story) I never believed him he had to fake a marriage to get the papers in order and all….i digress.

Cirque has many shows as you may already know and I quote “Alegria, the world-known show by Cirque du Soleil is coming back to Montreal after a 15-year voyage around the world,”

I’ve never gone around the world let alone for 15 years, but if I did I’d come back with a bang…and probably some good photos.

What I’m actually stoked about is that not only is MSOM have tickets to giveaway, but the Cirque is actually pricing the show within the Montreal “artist” / student budget. $25 tickets until the end of the week as for the free pair we’re going to give away, the contest is going to go a little something like this.

Brooklyn-based illustrator Dennis Chow, who works under the GlamNation moniker, is a prolific illustrator who’s character laden illustrations have adorned garments from leading street wear brands such as Mishka NYC, Krudmart, TBG, etc. He also created the artwork for Death From Above 1979’s final remix record before the band’s untimely demise.

Chow will be returning to Montreal to exhibit once again at The Emporium Gallery. His new exhibition, Sinisterly yours, GlamNation, features illustrative works on ‘cels’ that depict an alternate world of fantasy and rebellion ruled by colourful cartoon villains and loveable anti-hereos. If you love villainous cartoon characters, this exhibition is for you! Sinisterly yours, GlamNation opens Thursday, September 24th from 7PM-11PM at The Emporium Gallery (3035 St. Antoine Ouest, #74)
